A reference, not a final sale price
The Rapaport Price List expresses Rapaport’s view of high cash asking prices for well-cut white diamonds, informed by its research and market knowledge. It is a benchmark, not a record of completed transactions.
Its basis is a cash transaction without memo, return privileges or extended payment terms. A particular diamond may sell above or below the reference.
Publication and coverage
Round and Pear lists are published weekly, on Thursday at midnight New York time. They cover weights from 0.01 to 10.99 carats, with prices in US dollars.
The reference assumes Rapaport Specification A3 or better cut and no medium or strong fluorescence. Pear prices can serve as a guide for other fancy shapes; there is no separate list for every shape and no Rapaport list for fancy-coloured diamonds.
Which list do you need?
Round — round diamonds, including old European cuts; updated weekly.
Pear — pear-shaped diamonds and a reference for other fancy shapes; updated with Round.
Parcel — non-certified round parcels traded in the Indian market; updated monthly on the first.
Rapaport Trade — average and best asking prices of listed diamonds, compared with the benchmark.
Indian rupee lists — Round and Pear prices expressed in Indian rupees.
Understanding parcel prices
The Parcel list uses Very Good cut as its baseline. As approximate guidance, Excellent may attract a 10% premium and Good a 10% discount. These are reference adjustments, not guaranteed prices.
Diamonds weighing 0.01–0.29 carats are commonly sold in parcels, so the small-stone prices on the main list reflect this market.
Access and file formats
Viewing and downloading official lists requires an active Rapaport Price List subscription. In Rapaport Trade, open Rapaport Price List from the left menu, check the edition date and select View PDF or an available download format. The alternate official login is rapaport.com/priceslogin.
PDF is intended for reading and printing. CSV and DAT are comma-delimited data for spreadsheets or software. DAT fields include shape, clarity, colour, lower and upper weight limits, price and date. DBT uses the dBASE/DBF format.
Parcel, Rapaport Trade and rupee lists are PDF-only. Other available formats depend on the official subscription. Access to our calculator or Diamond Price Checker does not by itself grant a Rapaport Trade subscription.
Finding lists in the official Rapaport Trade app
In Rapaport Trade, tap the three dots at the bottom right, then Full Menu → Rapaport Price List. The official app is available through its App Store and Google Play listings.
These menu instructions describe Rapaport Trade, a separate product. Our Diamond Price Checker app is linked below.
Comparing weekly changes
The Price Changes view compares the two latest weekly publications and identifies the prices that changed. On the web, open Rapaport Price List → Price Changes and switch between Pear and Round.
In Rapaport Trade’s app, use the three-dot menu → Rapaport Price List → Price Changes, then choose a shape. Price List notifications can alert you to new editions.
Reading a price matrix
First select the diamond’s shape and carat-weight range. Within that matrix, colours run vertically from D to M, while clarity grades run horizontally from IF to I3. The intersection gives the reference figure.
Each figure represents hundreds of US dollars per carat. Multiply it by 100 to obtain USD per carat, then multiply by the diamond’s actual carat weight. Apply a negotiated discount separately.
A worked example
Illustrative figure: 100. Weight: 1.20 ct. Discount: 20%. This is an invented example, not a current diamond quotation.
100 × 100 = $10,000 per carat. $10,000 × 1.20 = $12,000 before discount. $12,000 × 0.80 = $9,600 after the discount.
What RDI W and RDI T mean
For Round matrices of one-third carat and larger, RDI W (white) averages the 25 combinations of D–H colour and IF–VS2 clarity. RDI T (total) averages all matrix grades, from D–M and IF–I3.
Both indexes are shown in hundreds of dollars per carat. The percentage following the equals sign indicates the change from the previous edition.
Why cut changes the result
Flat, deep or poorly cut diamonds can trade considerably below well-cut stones; medium cut may bring a smaller discount. With fancy shapes, outline and overall cut quality also matter.
A3 specifications do not replace inspection. Off-centre culets, uneven girdles, large naturals, angles, proportions and graining can affect value.
How fluorescence affects value
Medium or strong fluorescence may produce a milky appearance in some high-colour diamonds, and buyers may discount fluorescence even when milkiness is not visible.
For lower colours such as J–M, fluorescence can improve apparent colour and sometimes support value. Market preferences differ; in some markets, including Singapore, suitable fluorescent stones may attract a premium.
Reading the grading report
The benchmark assumes accurate grading to GIA standards, with SI3 treated separately. Stones commonly sent to a laboratory — 0.50 ct and above, D–K colour, IF–VS2 clarity — are priced on the assumption of a GIA report. Smaller and lower-quality stones still rely on honest grading.
A non-GIA report may affect the discount. Grading involves judgement, and repeated assessments of the same stone can differ. Check the report’s authenticity, accuracy, date and issuing laboratory.
Other reference tools
Rapaport’s Diamond Price Calculator compares a stone’s reference price with average and best asking prices on Rapaport Trade. TradeScreen groups asking prices by size, colour and clarity. RapSpecs sets out Rapaport’s cut-quality specifications.

If an official list is unavailable, first check the status of your official subscription. Missing download options can be a subscription limitation. Use PDF for reading; CSV, DAT and DBT are intended for data tools. If publication notifications are missing, check your notification settings and spam folder.
